Prof. Dr. Holmer Steinfath

Curriculum Vitae

Prof. Dr. Holmer Steinfath holds a chair of philosophy at the University of Göttingen. From 2002 to 2006 he held a chair of philosophy at the University of Regensburg, after leaving the RWTH-Aachen where he worked as professor for ethics in 2002. Two years before he obtained his habilitation at the University of Konstanz where he had been Assistant Professor from 1994 to 2001. He received his PhD with a study on Aristotle’s theory of substance at the FU-Berlin. Since 2008 he assesses philosophical research projects as a member of the DFG-Fachkollegium for Philosophy. In 2010 he was elected as a member of the Goettingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
